Jikan API

Jikan is an API that uses My Anime List and offers metadata for anime and manga.

Details

• Website: jikan.moe
• Supported formats: series, movies, specials, OVAs, manga, manhwa, novels
• Authentication: No authentication required
• Rate limiting: 60 per minute and 3 per second
• SFW filter support: Yes

Important Notes

Sometimes the API can be very slow; this is normal behavior and not an issue with the plugin.

You need to use the title the anime has on My Anime List, which is in most cases the Japanese title. For example, instead of “Demon Slayer”, you have to search for “Kimetsu no Yaiba”.

Search by ID

Anime

The ID you need is the anime ID from My Anime List.

Finding the ID

1. Navigate to the anime page on MyAnimeList
2. Look at the URL
3. The ID is the number in the URL

Example

For “Beyond the Boundary”:

• URL: https://myanimelist.net/anime/18153/Kyoukai_no_Kanata
• ID: 18153

Manga

The ID you need is the manga ID from My Anime List.

Finding the ID

1. Navigate to the manga page on MyAnimeList
2. Look at the URL
3. The ID is the number in the URL
